Production Safety Audits and Plans
Health and Safety Program Development
Seeking outside assistance to reinvigorate a safety program and employee culture, Boise Cascade Corporation retained safety professionals at Fulcrum to complete a top to bottom review of the existing safety program, streamline recordkeeping of weekly safety inspections, and facilitate monthly safety committee meetings. Working with committee members representing the more than 200 crewmembers, Fulcrum helped to update facility safety plans, emergency response plans, material safety data sheet inventories, facility committee member inspection forms, etc. A renewed emphasis and investment in safety resulted in a positive change in the safety culture of the facility.
Respiratory Protection Plan and Training
Following a review of existing respiratory protection plans and training, Yakima County Facility Services enlisted Fulcrum to assist in preparation of a new RPP and complete training of all department staff. Fulcrum prepared individual questionnaire templates and assisted in department indentifying more than 30 unique job tasks with potential exposure from work tasks or chemicals used during the work tasks. Given the broad and diverse tasks, Fulcrum prepared a RPP with a supplemental poster board for quick reference by department staff when completing an uncommon job task. Following training for each of the two shifts, department staff are more empowered to more effectively and consistently evaluate the work task and utilize respiratory protection.
