Job Description:

Fulcrum Environmental Consulting, Inc. is seeking a project geologist, hydrogeologist, or environmental engineer to grow our team of environmental professionals.

Fulcrum’s geologic work includes a wide range of investigation and assessment responsibilities, from basic underground storage tank site assessments to complex hydrogeologic investigations. As a project geologist or hydrogeologist, you will evaluate site conditions and develop investigation work plans; conduct soil and groundwater investigations; develop and complete soil and groundwater remediation projects; and support environmental planning projects and Phase I ESA deliveries.

We generally anticipate that entry level staff will have more than 10 years of post-graduation experience in the environmental consulting industry.

The following are the minimum skills & qualifications for this position:

  • Washington State Licensed Geologist and Hydrogeologist (or ability to achieve via reciprocity)
  • At least 5 years of previous experience in environmental or engineering consulting
  • Bachelor of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, or similar discipline
  • Proficiency preparing project investigation work plans, remediation work plans, remediation reports, etc.
  • Experience in evaluating, selecting and implementing soil and groundwater remedial approaches, including ORC, SVE, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental investigation and compliance regulations, such as MTCA (WAC 173-340), CERCLA, RCRA, and associated state, local, and federal regulations
  • Clarity in written product, strong oral communications, and professional dress and presence
  • Prepared to serve as a field lead and mentor to junior staff members
  • Ability to effectively interact with clients, regulatory agencies, technical staff, and subcontractors

We’d also really like to see these preferred skills & qualifications:

  • Development of clients and services to existing clients through professional relationships, effective project management, and personal investment in project outcomes
  • Superior technical field craft, including planning and execution of environmental investigations and compliance monitoring
  • Leadership in all facets of project planning, delivery, and completion with a focus on scope, schedule, and budget for each engagement

You’ll be expected to achieve and maintain the following licensure and training:

  • Licensed Geologist, Licensed Hydrogeologist, or licensed Professional Engineer
  • 40 hour Hazardous Waste Emergency Response Operations (HAZWOPER)
  • Washington State Underground Storage Tank Site Assessor Certification
  • Certified Erosion and Sediment Control LEAD (CECSL)
  • First Aid and CPR

Fulcrum will support your continued licensure and pursuit of additional licensure or certification.
